All members must complete the following continuing education requirements in order to retain their designation.
  1. Obtain 70 hours of continuing education credits every five (5) years.
  2. Have one unidentifiable appraisal reviewed and approved by the AMEA Appraisal Review Committee every two years.
  3. If applicable, maintain a current USPAP certificate.
What qualifies for continuing education?
In an effort to make earning continuing education manageable for members, the AMEA recognizes a variety of continuing education programs and opportunities including completion of self-study appraisal programs; attendance at auctions, trade shows and industry conventions; participation in appraisal seminars and other education programs produced by appraisal organizations; having an article published in a trade magazine or newsletter;  and many other education avenues.
