All members must complete the following continuing education requirements in order to retain their designation.
- Obtain 70 hours of continuing education credits every five (5) years.
- Have one unidentifiable appraisal reviewed and approved by the AMEA Appraisal Review Committee every two years.
- If applicable, maintain a current USPAP certificate.
What qualifies for continuing education? In an effort to make earning continuing education manageable for members, the AMEA recognizes a variety of continuing education programs and opportunities including completion of self-study appraisal programs; attendance at auctions, trade shows and industry conventions; participation in appraisal seminars and other education programs produced by appraisal organizations; having an article published in a trade magazine or newsletter; and many other education avenues.
