|"I would like to personally thank you for your continued support of the appraisal industry. As President, I will put forth great effort to build on the foundation that was established by our preceding leaders. Ongoing education, professional development, and building relationships will allow us to strengthen and prosper…to grow as individuals; to grow professionally within the appraisal industry, and continued growth as the Leading Appraisal Association for Machinery & Equipment."
-Charles J. Winternitz, AMEA President
The Association of Machinery and Equipment Appraisers (AMEA) is a nonprofit professional association whose mission is to accredit our certified equipment appraisers. Through the promotion of standards of professional practice, ethical conduct, and market-based experience, our company has continued to thrive on its original ethics since our establishment by the Machinery Dealers National Association (MDNA) in 1983.
Over its 22 year history, the AMEA has grown to nearly 300 accredited and certified equipment appraiser members from around the world, and provides its members with professional designations, timely news, continuing education opportunities, referrals to clients, networking, discounts on conventions and CE programs, and other benefits such as an insurance program, and reference and research tools through or web site's back office for members only. Those searching for an appraiser may search for a specific member through the online member directory.
The foundation of the AMEA is our Code of Ethics and Standards and Procedures of Professional Appraisal Practice. The Standards and Procedures of Professional Appraisal Practice conform to the standards of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice established by The Appraisal Foundation. The AMEA is endorsed the work of the Appraisal Foundation, and is represented on the Appraisal Foundation's Advisory Council.
